Last week was a dramatic week for the United Development Party (PPP). Senior leaders of PPP’s central executive board held a meeting and decided to sack Suryadharma Ali (SDA) from the chairmanship of the Islamic party. SDA retaliated by sacking those who tried to sack him. The Golkar Party went through similar leadership drama a few weeks back, but late last week the two Golkar leaders that not long ago seemed to be at war with each other—Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie and Agung Laksono—showed up at an event with big smiles, appearing very friendly towards one another.To subscribe please click here
