Indonesia booked trade surplus of US$673 million in March 2014, dropped by 20.2% from February 2014 because of higher import growth. Total export grew 3.9% in the month, but import increased by 5.4% alongside the appreciation of rupiah against US dollar. Overall, Indonesia enjoyed trade surplus of US$1.07 billion in the first quarter of 2014 against deficit of US$234 million in the corresponding quarter of 2013.
