Golkar, the second largest party in the country, has been taken over by Java King through Bahlil Lahadalia as new chairman. That\u2019s not enough to secure the Prince\u2019s position in the next administration. In the coming days, the National Awakening Party (PKB) might also be acquired.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

AS Hikam, former politician from the National Awakening Party (PKB), said that the central board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), the largest Moslem organisation, doesn\u2019t have the right to takeover PKB currently led by Muhaimin Iskandar.<\/p>\n

Bahlil, who was officially elected chairman of Golkar yesterday, roasted Muhaimin in the party\u2019s national assembly. \u201cThe national assembly (Munas of PKB) will be soon, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

Bear in mind, like Airlangga Hartarto (former chairman of Golkar), who was held hostage by corruption investigation, Muhaimin has long been held hostage in different case. Will Muhaimin also tender his resignation in the coming days?<\/p>\n

Conflict between PKB and PBNU started out with establishment of special committee on Hajj management by the House of Representatives (DPR). Yahya Staquf, chairman of PBNU, said the committee was established because of Muhaimin\u2019s private revenge on ministry of religious affairs Yaqut Cholil Quomas, who is younger brother of Yahya.<\/p>\n

The DPR, as you know, has finally appointed Nusron Wahid, a senior politician from Golkar Party, as chairman of the Committee. Nusron is said potential secretary general, the second most powerful position, of Golkar under Bahlil.<\/p>\n

PBNU, in the meantime, established a special committee to investigate PKB. PBNU\u2019s committee later on said the organisation will soon \u2018clean up\u2019 PKB management. This is widely seen as a political manoeuvre to topple Muhaimin even when PKB has decided to join Prabowo-Gibran\u2019s coalition, including in regional elections (including nominating Jokowi\u2019s son-in-law Bobby Nasution in North Sumatra election).<\/p>\n

Deputy secretary general of PKB pointed to an \u2018invisible hand\u2019 behind the conflict between PKB and PBNU. The \u2018invisible hand\u2019 might be related to the Java King.<\/p>\n

Bali Island will be busier over the weekend because of PKB\u2019s national assembly (muktamar) and parade from GP Ansor, a youth wing organisation of NU. Yaqut is former chairman of GP Ansor, while Erick Thohir (minister of state-owned enterprises, younger brother of Boy Thohir\/Adaro Group\/Merdeka Group) is an honourable member.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Acquisition of political parties needs a lot of money. Those with strong financial resources can bankroll anyone willing to be used to take over party leaderships. We\u2019ve seen that with Golkar. Won\u2019t be surprised to see that at PKB, fourth largest in the party. So, may be Bahlil was right when he warned \u2018don\u2019t mess up with the Java King\u2019. The Java King has been practising tactics of Soeharto in eradicating opponents.<\/p>\n
