The Chairman of the Muhammadiyah youth wing organization Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak recently gave President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo a harsh criticism. We all saw the rise of Islamic political influence in and after Jakarta’s 2017 gubernatorial race. The question now is whether Islamic politics will be an effective tool for 2019. If used then, would it help increase of percentage of votes of Islam-based political parties?
