The new Governor of East Kalimantan Isran Noor and his Vice Governor Hadi Mulyadi told the press that they endorse Prabowo Subianto in the 2019 presidential election. This is the first public endorsement from a regional head for Prabowo. But is that enough to defeat incumbent President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in East Kalimantan?

In a press briefing held at the PKS’ headquarters yesterday (Dec. 27), PKS Chairman Muhammad Sohibul Iman announced the gubernatorial pairs that PKS, Gerindra, and PAN would endorse. Prabowo was present in said press briefing and gave a speech. PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, however, was not present. In fact, no PAN representative was present when Sohibul and Prabowo made the announcement on stage.
