The 2018 Asian Games has been officially closed. Indonesia stands proud in fourth position with 31 gold, 24 silver, and 43 bronze medals. This result is historic as it represents Indonesia’s best achievement in Asian Games, and it exceeded the target set by President Jokowi. But what’s next?

Indonesia has passed Iran and is now in the 4th position of the 2018 Asian Games medal ranking table. Indonesian athletes competing in Pencak Silat helped Indonesia greatly with a clean sweep of the gold medals. With this achievement Indonesia has surpassed its gold medal collection target set by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. This is also Indonesia’s best achievement in the history of its participation in the Asian Games.
