Indonesia’s consumer confidence climbed to 123.0 in January 2023 from 119.9 in December 2022, pointing to the highest level since August last year, boosted by a further easing in inflation. Households’ sentiment strengthened toward income expectations for the next six months (up 4.6 points to 137.9), job availability (up 7.4 points to 131.3), job availability compared to six months ago (up 1.2 points to 112.1), and the country’s economic outlook (up 6.6 points to 133.9). Meanwhile, consumers’ assessments weakened about both their current income (down 2.6 points to 117.7) and their current economic conditions (down 0.3 points to 112.1).
