More than a week has passed since former Commander of the Army’s Strategic Reserves Command (Pangkostrad) Lt. Gen. Dudung Abdurachman became the new Army Chief of Staff (KSAD). The Pangkostrad position remains vacant because President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has not yet appointed Dudung’s successor. Some may not mind that the Pangkostrad position is still vacant. But it has never happened before. The Pangkostrad position was never vacant for more than a day. So, one wonders why Jokowi has not yet appointed a new Pangkostrad.
