Major bourses in Asia were lower on Tuesday, tracking losses on Wall Street overnight, as a global energy shortage fuelled fears over rising inflation. The Shanghai Composite tumbled 1.3%, as China Evergrande missed its third round of bond payment in three weeks. The Hang Seng was down 1.6% and the Nikkei 225 declined 0.9%. Stocks in South Korea also sank by 1.4% after the Bank of Korea held the base rate but warned that further tightening could come as soon as November. The ASX meanwhile went down 0.3%.
