Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia dropped by 10.77 percent year-on-year to 138,967 in July 2021, amid the prolonged impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of arrivals by air in Bali, the center of the Indonesian tourism industry, slumped 100 percent to zero. In contrast, the number of arrivals in Jakarta jumped 75.25 percent to 5,466. Also, those reaching Batam gained 183.3 percent to 153. Tourists fell mostly from Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand; while grew from Vietnam. Considering the January to July period, tourist arrivals slumped 71.42 percent.
