Stocks in South Korea led the falls, amid the standoff between lawmakers and doctors about how to carry the COVID-19 vaccine campaign. The Nikkei 225, however, rose on reports that Fujifilm Holdings will restart a clinical trial of its antiviral drug Avigan.
