Gold prices remained under pressure on Monday as the dollar maintained its momentum as the preferred safe-haven in the absence of further fiscal stimulus and rising coronavirus cases globally. Still, despite some correction from August’s record high of $2,075 an ounce the fundamentals for gold have not changed, with expectations of a prolonged period of ultra-low interest rates leaving room for further upside momentum.
