Indonesia recorded 247 new cases, an increase of nearly 10%, to make a total of 2,738 on Tuesday (Apr 8). Number of deaths, meanwhile, increased by 12 to 221, reflecting case fatality rate of 8.1%, one of the highest in the world. This might be attributable to low testing rate, high preexisting medical conditions, and limited handling capacity of the hospitals.
