Global stock markets extended gains on Wednesday (Feb. 12) as optimism grew that the global economy could recover from the impact of the novel coronavirus (now called Covid-19) amid signs the spread of the illness was slowing. That said, the situation remains in flux as the Chinese Government changed the diagnostic criteria for Covid-19 resulting in a significantly higher amount of confirmed cases in the Mainland.
