The South Sulawesi province will be the most important battleground in the Island of Sulawesi. Around half of the 13.6 million voters in Sulawesi live in the province. Like in four other provinces in Sulawesi, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo won South Sulawesi by a landslide in 2014. Having Jusuf Kalla as his vice presidential candidate helped.
