Imports to Indonesia jumped 17.83% from a year earlier to US$15.06 in December of 2017, following a downwardly revised 19.22% rise in the prior month. Purchases of non-oil and gas increased 12.87% to US$12.51 billion and those of oil and gas surged by 50.10% to US$2.55 billion. Compared to November, inbound shipments went down 0.29%.

Meanwhile exports from Indonesia rose 6.93% year-on-year in December of 2017 to US$14.79 billion, after an upwardly revised 14.32% growth in the prior month. Sales of non-oil and gas products went up by 5.56% to US$13.28 billion, while those of oil and gas grew by 20.78% to US$1.51 billion. Compared to the previous month, outbound shipments declined by 3.45%.
