Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) plans to acquire two small banks this year through its subsidiary, Bank Rakyat Indonesia Agroniaga (BRI Agro). BRI also plans to reduce its ownership in BRI Agro as other investors can also invest in the bank. BRI currently controls 87.23% stake in BRI Agro. BRI Agro is expetced to boost its capital to Rp5 trillion this year, entering into BUKU 3 category.
