“The economy is bad under Jokowi,” that’s the sentence I’ve been hearing from big and small business owners in the past few months. When I asked them why they thought that’s the case, those who work in construction would say that Jokowi was spending too much on infrastructure even though the money wasn’t there to begin with, and those who work in retail and food & beverage sector would say import had been tough on them and business had been slow. But is the economy really that bad, or is there something else going on?To subscribe please click here
