Tourist arrivals in Indonesia rose 16.17% to 910,931 in June this year, from 784,155 persons in the same month a year earlier. Bali was the main destination (503,617), followed by Jakarta (158,147) and Batam (125,835). Considering January to June 2017, tourist arrivals grew 16.09% compared to the same period a year earlier to 4.71 million persons. The government aims to attract 20 million visitors a year by 2019. In 2016, the country had 11.52 million foreign visitors.
