State oil and gas firm Pertamina produced 692,000 barrels oil equivalent per day (boepd) in the first half (H1) this year, grew 8% from H1 last year. Oil production rose 12% to 343,000 barrels per day (bpd) while gas production increased 4% to 2.02 million metric standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd). Pertamina’s production growth is contributed by Pertamina Hulu Energi (70,000 bpd), Pertamina EP Cepu (90,000 bpd), and Internasional Eksplorasi dan Produksi (PIEP) which contributed 104,000 bpd. Pertamina has commenced the drilling for Mahakam block, to act as operator since January 1, 2018, taking over from current operator Total E&P.
