Broad money (M2), as a measure of liquidity in the economy, accelerated in May 2017. The M2 position was recorded at Rp5,126.2 trillion, with growth ticking upwards from 10.2% (yoy) to 11.1% (yoy). By component, quasi-money and securities other than shares were the main growth contributors, with quasi-money accelerating from 8.7% (yoy) the month earlier to 10% (yoy) in May 2017, while the position of securities other than shares recorded growth of 43.3% (yoy), up significantly from 30% (yoy) the month earlier.
