Shares of cement producers listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) have dropped significantly from their recent peak amidst weak growth in the first quarter. Domestic demand improved in the second quarter, but not enough to absorb new capacities added in the past few years. PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) recorded cement sales of 2.9 million tons last month, jumped by 38% year-on-year, lifting the group’s sales volume by 10% year-on-year to 11.5 million tons in the first five months of 2017.To subscribe please click here
