The portion of foreign investment in the government bonds increased to 45.01% as of last week (June 9), from 43.01% be end December last year, a positive signal for their trust and confidence over Indonesia’s economic fundamental. Foreign investors were building their investment in Indonesia alongwith expectation Indonesia will get the investment grade status from Standard & Poors (S&P). Interestingly foreign investors now opt to investment in bonds with tenor of more than 10 years, rather than 5-10 tenor of bonds. Foreign investors also booked net buy of Rp20 trillion in local stocks as of Tuesday (June 13) (year to date), but narrowed from its peak (Rp28.8 trillion).
