The Central Bank (Bank Indonesia/BI) reported that the capital inflow grew by 74.2%, from Rp62 trillion in the same period of last year to Rp108 trillion from January to third week of May this year. Per April 5, 2017, foreign funds that flowed into the government’s bonds reached Rp62.1 trillion, while foreign funds put on BI instruments such as BI Certificates (SBI) reached Rp5.7 trillion. Foreign investors booked a net buy of Rp21.9 trillion in local stocks as of Wednesday (May 31).
