Lippo Group CEO James Riady told in press briefing today that the Group plans to build new Jakarta City named “Meikarta” which costs for Rp278 trillion. Meikarta will be designed as an international-standard city like Shenzen City. This project is scheduled to launch in May 13, 2017. The construction has started since early last year. Meikarta is located in Bekasi and Cikarang, surrounding by some new cities such as Lippo Cikarang, Jababeka, and MM2100. Meikatra will have 7 shopping malls, international hospital and health center, international financial center, 5 units of international 5-star hotels, national library, opera theatre & art centre, 10 international elementary school and National Plus school, 5 international junior and senior high school, 3 national universities, research center for industry, international exhibition centre, and Indonesian silicon valley.
