Listed companies are expanding their businesses, while better earning reports of companies for the first quarter (Q1) of 2017 boosted the buying sentiment on their stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). On Tuesday (Apr 25), foreign investors were aggressively buying local stocks as they booked a net buy of Rp1.31 trillion, bringing year-to-date net buy to Rp19.5 trillion. The IDX composite gained 0.29% to close at 5,681 yesterday, with late buying helping lifting the index from negative territory. The rupiah also strengthened to Rp13,296 against the U.S. dollar Tuesday.
