2017 Babel Election: PDI-P vs Golkar

PDI-P and the Golkar Party—the largest and the second largest political parties in the province of Bangka Belitung (Babel)—have decided to not continue their alliance in the province’s 2017 gubernatorial election. As a result, the Governor of Babel Rustam Effendi (who has been re-endorsed by PDI-P), and the Vice Governor Hidayat Arsani (who has been nominated by Golkar as a governor candidate) will go their separate ways and run against each other in the election.
