The growth of private and commercial broadcast media have challenged the state-run media agencies to remain relevant sources of information. One of such state agencies is the state-run radio station Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI). RRI may not be a popular radio station, but on Jul. 9, it surprised the greater public with their own excellent version of the 2014 presidential election quick count. But the campaign team of one of the presidential pairs didn’t seem as excited with RRI’s quick count.
