CATL Finally?

Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) and the world’s largest EV battery manufacturer CATL, through its subsidiary CBL International Development, have formed a joint venture (JV) firm to establish a battery cell manufacturing plant for South East Asia market.

EV Industry Update

China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) data showed China’s new energy-vehicle (NEV) sales grew further to a record high last month. In September, China’s NEV sales reached a record high of 1,287,000 units, surpassing the previous record of 1,191,000 units in December last year. This represents a year-on-year increase of 42.3% and a 17% increase from August.

Google has reportedly decided to build US$1 billion data centre in Thailand. In late August 2024, global media outlets reported that the tech giant also considered Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam as potential location for a hyper scale data centre.
