IBC Receives US$15 Billion to Build Battery Ecosystem

The Indonesian Battery Corporation (IBC), received an investment of US$ 15 billion from its two partners, Ningbo Contemporary (CBL) and LG Energy Solution (LGES). Both partners have partnered with IBC’s parent, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), to develop an electric vehicle battery ecosystem in the country. This partnership aims to develop an integrated electric vehicle battery project.

MRT Jakarta: A Tariff Impasse?

As we’ve reported before, mainstream media outlets were quick to announce the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) tariff scheme after the Chairman of the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD DKI) Prasetio Edi Marsudi shared with them the Rp8,500 number. The said tariff was the tariff from Lebak Bulus Station to Bundaran Hotel Indonesia Stations that the joint leadership meeting (Rapimgab) had supposedly agreed to. Not long after that, however, the Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan told the press that the Rp8,500 tariff was not the final tariff. Where are we with this debate?

On Monday (March 25), news broke that the Province Government of Jakarta (Pemprov DKI) and the Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD DKI) had agreed on a tariff of 8,500 rupiah for Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). By Tuesday (March 26), however, Governor Anies Baswedan told the press that the tariff set on Monday was not final. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated the commercial operation of the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) on Sunday (Mar. 24). Jakartans can now use the service. Can they? Trans-Sumatra Progressed Well, Show Me The Money!

State-owned EPC firm Hutama Karya, assigned to develop trans-Sumatra toll road, reported further progress in some sections by April 6, 2018. Medan-Binjai in North Sumatra reached 86.23%, while Palembang-Indralaya in South Sumatra 84.64%. We anticipate delay in commercial operation of some sections, but overall they’re getting closer to completion.
