Astra International (ASII), the country’s largest automotive company, reported a decline in revenue and net income for the first quarter (Q1) of 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19. Djony Bunarto Tjondro, Astra’s president director, said in a press statement that the pandemic had started to materially affect the Indonesian economy and the performance of the business only from March 2020. Although he said the Group’s trading performance had gradually improved in recent months, the outlook for the full year remains uncertain due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic.
