United States (US) stocks closed virtually flat on Wednesday (April 7) as investors awaited fresh catalysts to justify current valuations. Markets have been basking in the glow of a stimulus and vaccine-fuelled improvement in the economy. Payrolls rose the most in 7 months, with the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) Non-Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) (also known as the ISM Services PMI) reaching a record high and job openings touching a two-year high.
