Bank Central Asia (BBCA) booked a net profit of Rp7 trillion in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, which grew 7% year on year (y/y). Amid gradual economic recovery from the pandemic, combined portfolios of loans and corporate bonds have been relatively stable since year-end 2020, standing at Rp610 trillion as of March 31, 2021. The portfolio was supported by corporate bonds, a 6.9% increase compared to December 2020. Meanwhile, BBCA saw positive loan growth in the corporate segment, supported by more robust demand in the telco industry, edible oil, and plantations.
