Global stock markets extended gains on Tuesday (Jan 12). United States (US) shares rose as investors continued to weigh the prospects of further stimulus against political uncertainty. On Monday, House Democrats introduced an article of impeachment against President Trump for inciting his supporters who invaded the US Capitol during Congress’ electoral vote count last week, while President-elect Joe Biden is expected to unveil details about more economic stimulus on Thursday.
