Indonesia’s COVID-19 Mitigation Task Force (Satgas Covid) reported 10,047 new daily cases on Jan. 12, a significant jump from the 8,692 new cases reported on Sunday. Given Indonesia’s problematic data compilation process, it’s difficult to tell whether the spike is a sign of accelerated spread of infection, or a consequence of reporting backlog. With 7,068 cured and a record-high 302 deaths, the tally of active cases is 126,313, up from 123,636 on Jan. 11. The number of suspect cases nationwide is 54,827, down from 68,572 reported yesterday. To subscribe please click here
