Indonesia’s consumer confidence index increased 4.5 points from the previous month to 96.5 in December 2020, amid hopes an effective COVID-19 vaccine. This was the strongest reading since March, as most of the six main sub-indices improved: current economic conditions (up 8.5 points to 68.6); the assessment of current income (up 8.8 points to 73.6); economic outlook (up 0.4 points to 124.3); job availability expectations (up 4.0 points to 121.7) and job availability compared to six months ago (up 11.1 points to 53.5). Meanwhile, income expectations for the next six months (down 1.0 points to 130.2).
