Major stock markets in Asia mostly rose on Tuesday, on the prospects of imminent fiscal aid in the US. The Shanghai Composite index led the gains following a fall in local COVID-19 cases on the back of a series of new lockdown measures in Hebei province near Beijing. However, shares in South Korea fell, due to profit-taking as the index has risen 8.1% so far this year and worries that the Federal Reserve may taper its bond-buying program.
