Indonesia’s external economic resilience remains strong, as reflected by a jump in trade surplus in the third quarter (Q3) of 2020, to US$8.03 billion from US$2.89 billion in Q2 of 2020. Statistics Indonesia (BPS) on Thursday (Oct 15) reported that the country trade surplus reached US$2.44 billion in September 2020, swinging from a US$0.2 billion gap in the same month of the previous year. It recorded a surplus of US$13.51 billion in the first nine months of the year, shifting from a US$2.24 billion gap in the same period of last year.
