Oil futures edged down on Tuesday, with US crude prices hovering below $41 a barrel as hopes for a smooth recovery in fuel demand faded with the reimposition of mobility curbs in many countries around the world. Putting a floor under prices was optimism that a US stimulus package would eventually be passed as early as this week.
