The index for leading economic indicators in Japan, which is a gauge of the economy a few months ahead and is compiled using data such as job offers and consumer sentiment, was at 86.7 in July 2020, compared with the preliminary reading of 86.9 and a final 83.8 a month earlier, amid a gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, with more non-essential business resuming their operations.
