After the passage of the Omnibus Law on October 5, 2020, the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) claimed that some 153 foreign firms had expressed their readiness to invest in Indonesia. BKPM Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia said that the entry of foreign firms or investors would create more jobs, mainly local workers, as foreign workers would only be needed at certain jobs or levels with specific skills.
