The Baltic Dry Index fell for the ninth session to 1,409 on Monday, the lowest since September 22nd and extending a 22% plunge in the previous week, dragged down by lower rates for capesize and panamax vessels. The capesize index which tracks iron ore and coal cargos declined 7.8%, the ninth consecutive daily drop; and the panamax index which measures coal or grain cargos went down 1.89%. Among smaller vessels, the supramax index was flat.
