Over a month ago POLRI announced new suspects in two different but related cases regarding Joko Tjandra’s attempt to avoid the law. The first inquisition is on the alleged forgery to help Joko Tjandra travel in and out of Indonesia. The second inquisition is on a case of corruption, as Joko Tjandra, with the help of several people, had allegedly paid for extra assistance. There are six suspects in the cases, apart from the suspect named in the case investigated by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). Among the suspects is Inspector General (Pol) Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon filed for a pre-trial lawsuit a couple of weeks ago questioning his legal status. The trial started this week. Meanwhile, the inquisition process on the alleged forgery had been completed. The dockets were handed over to the East Jakarta Prosecutors’ Office.
