Global stock markets closed in the red zone on Monday (Sep. 21) as investors weighed fiscal uncertainty and rising Covid-19 cases in the United States (US), Europe, and India. The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide has passed 31 million, of which more than 960 thousand died and over 21 million recovered. In the US, the disease’s epicenter, the number of infections surpassed 6.5 million, followed by India (5,487,580) and Brazil (4,544,629). The US has almost 200 thousand coronavirus-related deaths, followed by Brazil (136,895) and India (87,882).
