Government of Indonesian is seeking private funding sources to finance the total Rp762 trillion that splurged for 2,765 kilometers Trans-Sumatera toll roads, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said Tuesday (July 7). Jokowi explained the investment needs of this project amounting to Rp476 trillion. But of the total investment, there is still a need for additional funding of Rp386 trillion to complete the entire backbone segment until 2024.
President emphasized that the Trans Sumatra – also the Cisumdawu toll road (Cileunyi – Sumedang – Dawuan) in West Java – are the government’ strategic project to leverage the acceleration of national economic recovery. So he urged the regulations to overcome the constraints of technical rules and administrative procedures be made immediately.
