President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo nominated 31 Indonesian ambassador candidates to the House of Representatives (DPR). Among them are politicians from the President’s ruling coalition and his supporters in the 2019 presidential election. Some might be cynical in seeing the nomination as another means of political accommodation, but others might see it as an effort to solidify political union in a challenging time.
