Global stock markets closed in red on Tuesday (May 12) on the uncertainty of reopening the economy. Wall Street closed deeply in the red, as investors weighed the latest attempts to reopen the economy, Bloomberg reported. The decline accelerated after United States (US) Senator Lindsey Graham introduced legislation to require China to cooperate with a COVID investigation or face sanctions, triggering renewed uncertainty. The WHO warned that states that eased restrictions had seen increases in the number of cases.
