Yesterday (March 11), the Indonesian Government announced additional confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 27. The increase itself is not what is worrying. It’s the fact that Case (patient) Number 27 is infected by SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes the disease COVID-19) despite never going abroad and never coming into contact with other known confirmed cases. Case Number 27 is thus suspected of being the sign of community transmission in Indonesia.
