Major stock markets around the world traded mixed on Wednesday, as an emergency 50bps rate cut from the Fed failed to ease most concerns about the coronavirus impact in the global economy while Caixin PMIs for China showed the services sector shrank at record pace. The Shanghai Composite gained 0.6% while the Nikkei 225 added 0.1% only. In Europe, major bourses opened mostly lower. Meanwhile, stock futures in the US traded higher, after a sell-off in the previous session.
