The Shanghai Composite index in China ended 18 points or 0.6% lower to 3,013 on Tuesday, extending falls from the prior session, after the WHO warned that world should do more to prepare for a possible virus pandemic as cases outside China has grown rapidly. On Monday, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain reported their first cases, all involving people who had come from Iran. At the end of Monday, the fatalities from the outbreak in mainland China reached nearly 2,700. Overnight, the US equities sank more than 3%.
